At Grandma Betty's house Jared sleeps in this pack-n-play.  He is almost getting to long for it!!

When he wakes up he throws out his blankie and glowworm! What a cutie.

Gracelyn turns 6!

The final birthday party for Miss Gracelyn.

Grandma Betty bought her a beautiful cake complete with her picture.

In the evening after the little friend party we had Uncle Kevin and his clan over for supper along with Grandma and Grandpa.

Gracelyn picked the menu:  Chicken nuggets, hard carrots, pineapples, and grapes. I added Sloppy Joe's and potatoes.

Then after the party was over Daddy, Gracelyn, and Zach worked on putting together the Lego Friends set she got as a gift.

Here is the list of what Gracelyn has accomplished in the last year:

• Graduated preschool at St. John's - onto Kindergarten.
• Did Level 2 swimming lessons (didn't pass... but had fun!).
• Vacation Bible School at Gloria Dei.
• Started Kindergarten at St. John's. All day, every day.
• Mrs. Schultz is her teacher and Gracie just loves her.
• Rode the BIG YELLOW SCHOOL bus for the first time on her first day of school.
• Knows her full name, address, phone number, mom's cell phone number
• Can count and write to 100 (misses a few numbers, but generally does a pretty good job)
• Can count backwards from 50
• Can read!!!  Superkids curriculum at Kindergarten is her favorite.
• Can spell!!!
• Can do simple math.
• Loves school.  Good friends are Will, Brianna and Annabelle.
• Started dance lessons and just loves it!
• Can ride bike without training wheels.
• Plays and fights with her brothers all in the 5 minutes!
• Can almost tie her shoes.
• Can buckle her own seat belt.
• Is a wonderful little girl that I am so blest to have as a daughter.

Gracelyn's First 'Friend' Birthday Party

Gracelyn wanted so bad to have some friend's from school over for a her birthday party.

We compromised and picked the three classmates that are also in her dance class for a party at the Pizza Ranch.  She was so excited for days and days before the party.

We did a princess party. Everyone got a crown. Even Zachy requested one.

We ordered pizza and chicken fries.

Gracelyn said it was a wonderful party. She says being 6 is so different!! 

The Sohre Family Easter

Well, it was a rather chilly Easter this year, but we still managed to do the Easter Egg hunt at Grandma and Grandpa's.  Stocking hats and all we headed out to pick up the eggs around the yard.

The wimpy adults up next to the barn to get out of the wind.

Annual Easter Egg Hunt 2013

9 am sharp we are ready to hunts some eggs. This is Jared's first year. It Daddy's first year too! He got the pleasure  forced  to come with us this year!

Here they are all ready to go. New buckets this year.

Jared becomes a pro very fast although he had this idea of putting the egg in his bucket then dumping it out, then picking it back up, then the same story over and over again. At least he had some fun.

I think Daddy had fun too. The Easter Egg Hunt is a crazy time.

Snow!! April 9, 3013

Can you believe this???  Last Thursday morning on April 9th, 2013 this is what we wake up to!!!! 

And it is not going away as the temps are in the 20's and low 30's! School was called off.

After we got home from work and daycare I sent the kids out to make a snowman. Gracie asked me if we could get out the Christmas decorations and if Santa was going to come again... no dear, no Santa!!!

Butterfly Cupcakes for the Birthday Girl!!

Gracelyn turned 6 this year! It is hard to believe is was 6 years ago that we had our first baby and brought her home on Easter Sunday!  She has grown so much and is becoming such a sweet little girl.

For her birthday this Mommy decided to embark on making butterfly cupcakes. 

I have never done this before and to be truthful I don't think I have ever made my kids a birthday cake, well I guess I made Zach cupcakes last year for his birthday, but this was the first big project.

So with that being said, this was a big deal for me and I was quite proud of the finished product.

I figured Miss Gracelyn should help and Zach too.

We used Candy Melts to make the butterfly's and to make lollipops in the candy melt molds.

We ate the cupcakes at Grandma and Grandpa Sohre's during the Easter celebration.

She was so cute, she took it upon herself to take the tray and hand out her cupcakes to everyone.
